About The Game

Still Kicking is the final product of a 48-hour game jam (Chillenium) with a topic of Role Reversal. Our interpretation of this topic was to make the player a soccer ball that instead of being kicked, kicks the players. 

Still Kicking is a top-down, wave survival game in which the player kicks away attacking soccer players to survive until the end of the match. Kick away enough soccer players and unlock the special flaming kick to instantly hit away everyone around you.

My Role

I acted as main programmer during this game jam with the goal of creating a simple mobile game in 48 hours. Using Unity I was responsible for the following:

  • Program touch-based controls including tap and swipe

  • Implement all art assets and animations

  • Create an audio system to include randomized announcer lines based on player actions

  • Ensure all gameplay is stable and bug-free for contest judging
